Due to this, the officials of the drainage department are not satisfied at all.

A large part of North Kolkata and South Kolkata is drained by the Ganga through several dams. If this water does not come out, the officials of the drainage department are worried that during the continuous rain, the pilgrims will have to enter the water mandap on their knees. In order to deal with this situation, it has been ordered to install additional submersible pumps in every district so that in case of heavy rains, the collected water can be directly connected to the pipe and discharged into the canal through this pump.
