City of Spokane Water Department technicians have discovered a failed valve at Well Pump #4 resulting in air entering the system, causing water to have a cloudy or milky appearance. The condition of the water is not a result of contamination. Crews will be flushing the north hill water system throughout the night to help remove the air.

Customers north of North Foothills Dr. to Francis Ave. and Havana St. west to Assembly may experience a cloudy or milky look to their water. Out of an abundance of caution, samples have been taken from several sources and water quality testing is underway. Test results are expected to come back mid-day Saturday and the City will release results to the public at that time.

Residents and customers can be confident water is safe to drink and for normal household use.
